@devicex congratulations on mail day post 3000
Does outgoing mail count? Sold off this 1963 philicorda valve organ. Restored it into a 95 perfect working state, but now its off to someone who will actually use it.

Will take that as an excuse to repost one of my favourite finds of 2021, dutch duo Spill Gold (ft. a Philicorda, an MS-20, and a Sennheiser MD 441):
(I’m not enough of a Philicorda nerd to identify the exact model, but if anyone knows let me know.)
Oh that looks gorgeous. To read about the Eigenharp is a joy in itself. You’re so lucky to have one.
That is really old (in the best sense; it’s actually a few years younger than me.) I love to see original historical applications of thermionic technology. And those comically huge trimmer cans!
Those cans are adjustable inductors, they are part of the tone generators, they are Hartley oscillators. 12 oscillators generate the highest octave of each semitone. The circuit boards to the left are neon-lamp-based frequency dividers, which generate the lower octaves. Its a very cool instrument, was glad to be able to work on it!
Back in the sixties practically every TV and radio was infested with those gadgets. Even small radios would have several. At the time the standard superhet receiver design used sine wave oscillators (dunno how they do it now), and before semiconductor varicaps became widely available I assume they had to resort to those big cans for manual trimming of the LC circuits.
Hey, I just got 3 of those also. Somehow timed it to show up the same day as may Tayda order and sequencers.
Nothing for me, but had to order 4066’s , some caps and in4148’s seem to be running out of some stock stuff… Doubt they will get here before I go away at the weekend…
CD4066’s turned up. Then whilst looking for 2N3904’s I found a previous batch of 4066’s I thought I had but were not in the correct draw or on the manifest…
Whilst still lookig for the 2N3904’s I found two bags of 1N4148’s , I thought I had run out so had ordered more of them yesterday.
I was about to order the 2N3904’s , but found them on my work desk…
Just short of the Caps now and that headder fort hte Sequencer/.
Hahaha yeah that is always the way.
I didn’t take any photo’s but I got two parcels today. One from Thonk with pots and knobs and the other from an Aussie Wiggler (Australian Modular FB page) with CEM3340 and AS3360 IC’s. Let the building continue.
The original compels me to make demands:
-
The original be sped up.
-
The original be remixed.
