I made a super simple FM synth for my 1 year old

This is an arduino with the Mozzi library and some arcade controls and knobs in an old wine box.

Made it for my 1 year old and he seems to like it, probably mostly for the lights

Has anybody else built something like this? And suggestions for additions?

I might add a ring of lights around the knobs. And maybe a joystick that lights up.

Specs?
Schematic?
Stripboard layout?
PCB’s available?

This would be freaking awesome to get the kids that I teach at yoyo club into synths!!!

Haha I could look into making a PCB if anybody really wants one. Made this on strip board. Here are my sketches:

It uses a arduino pro micro with two 74HC165 ICs for the buttons and a 74HC595 for the LEDs. The pots connect directly to the arduino.

Here is a pic of the breadboard layout.

Just seen this. Well done. As for suggestions take a look a capacitive or resistive touch or some of the soft / fabric controllers (as you already have an arduino in place) . Tilt, piezo and breath controllers too. Drones, a LDR theremin, springs, pressure pads (easy DIY). I love am array of old mercury switches (maybe not for a 1 year old unless you encased them in clay) .
Fantastic stuff. Hope to see more.
