Effects box (was Terminology question)

Continuing the discussion from Random Thoughts and Questions:
I can’t quite find what it’s called that I wanna achieve.
I’ve built several effects that I want to combine into one desktop unit. No on/off effect buttons, just a pot to dial in the effect desired and dial back to dry.
Ultimately I wanna do this with 3 different effects or more using 3 diff pots.
I’d prefer to build it but I haven’t a clue what I’m researching lol
this website is beaucoup info ideas
Thx everybody :+1:

Add: for plug and play non module appl

Not very exciting but how about:

Multi-effects unit

Im sure Ive seen such like amidst the stomp box building community, you could search on:

That sounds like a filter, my dude. Or maybe modulation or distortion or some kind. If you’ve built the effects circuits you’re 90% of the way there. It sounds like you just want to stick the signal in one end, apply the effects as desired, and get the result out the other end. Design your effects so that you’ve got a pot that adds your effect from zero to max, and just pass the signal through. Is there something specific you can’t find?

Nope, I got it. What you want is to put a mixer circuit in between each effect so you can dial between no effect/dry and all effect/wet. So, maybe set up a potentiometer as a voltage divider between an unmodified signal and a fully modified signal and then you can just mix the two signals. I can draw you something if you want.

Ya nailed it, a synth gets plugged into desktop effects box (filter, modulation, delay) dry until dialed in wet via pot not a 3pdt
I’m gonna investigate all that you mentioned
thank you for the synapses

Sounds like a channel insert to an fx chain or group.
Also sounds like fun.
