Bought wrong component, please help

hi, i bought by error this : link

this is an arduino to dmx interface
i want the opposite…

the cheap inside seems to be a 75176B, do i have a chance of saving anything without just buying something else ?

thanks a lot to everyone by advance

On Arduino DMX shields with both input and output XLR connectors, there are direct ‘through’ connections between the input and output. This is so that the shield can be part of a DMX chain of multiple devices. So in your case the only real problem is that the onboard connector is the wrong gender. Probably the simplest solution is to make up a gender-changing cable with a female plug at each end. Then with a DMX slave sketch running on your Arduino things should work OK.

Good luck!

so just changing the xlr socket has a chance to work correctly ?

If you can get the other gender socket with the correct pin spacing I think that should work. Just be sure that the connections go to the same number pin in the new socket.

there is a norm for those thing right ?

There are different patterns for the XLR connections to the PCB, so finding a connector of the other gender which will fit your PCB may be challenging. In the worst case you could use flying leads rather than a direct mount on the PCB.

may an adapter be better no ?

That was my original thought, using a cable with the same plug type at each end.
