Ha, yes! So all the discussion about people and gender and biology does not have much to do with jacks and plugs which is why the terms male and female don’t seem to apply.

The new language for SPI pin labeling recommends the use of SDO/SDI (Serial Data Out/In) for single-role hardware, and COPI/CIPO for “Controller Out, Peripheral In” and “Controller In, Peripheral Out” for devices that can be either the controller or the peripheral. The change also updates the “SS” (Slave Select) pin to use “CS” (Chip Select).

I still remember the Sven episode. Season 2 ep 4 I think. Stimpy and Sven hide in the closet and play circus. Stimpy was the sword swallower if I recall.

Another bit of terminology that doesn’t really sit, that admittedly I haven’t seen here, but you see all the time on guitar pedal DIY groups: calling transistors ‘trannys’. Not necessary to save typing a couple letters, and it always leads to some idiot making some double entendre. Don’t even know how common it is really but no one even bats an eyelid in the land of fuzz pedals!

You hear that a lot in automotive circles in relation to transmissions too. This does take me back to fond memories of a time and place and a character there that I never really got to know but that everyone in the community used to call “Granny Tranny.” I hope she’s still around and strutting.
