I finally found it while looking for something else (all-valve synth/organ voice)

sorry I can’t remember who was talking about an all tube synth voice . wish I could have found this when you were talking about it . these are pictures [ front & back] of a voice from a Conn home organ . there where a whole row of these hot little devils inside the organ .

looks like something from a 30’s horror movie…

“hot little devils” in what was possibly a church organ?

Bottom pic shows some old school “vero board” if I’m not mistaken. Were the bolts in the top picture just there to hold the transformers in place? Really heavy duty implementation.

They look like tagboard to me. Before veroboard this was a common way to hook passive components together. Those quite solid-looking metal busbars (vertical in the lower picture) are holding the tagboards together with solder joints in the eyes of some of the tags.

4 lbs. / 1825 g and there was a row of them . I am not sure about the spring / bolt thing is for , never really looked into it .
