Cherry Audio Elka Synthex editor

I started this little project a couple of days ago, Elka Synthex hardware editor, I know I could never own a Synthex, so maybe this is the next best thing. All the hardware is fitted to the board, Teensy lives underneath and now to start the wiring and then the coding.

I’ve got the 7 segment displays wired in now, all looking good. Just wondering how to power the slider LEDs, simple resistor to 3.3v, that would be 140mA permanent draw. Or use a max7219 chip to modulate them with PWM.

Case building time. So I managed to get a sheet of aluminium yesterday, but still under the weather until today and this is what I’ve managed so far.

So here it is, finally, new printer arrived today so I got busy printing new panels. My box of laminates ran out and the next box doesn’t cut well with a craft knife, so I might have to redo the monitor section and it’s a slightly different shade of grey. But I general I’m happy with it. I need to program some usable sounds as you cannot use the presets as they are not matched to the editor, so I have to program the editor and store sounds there.

Adding some MIDI automation to areas of the Elka-X where Cherry Audio doesn’t think it’s needed.
