I see, thanks for the suggestion on the MCP6024.
I’m still unsure why the TL072 doesn’t have any issues with the same input signal though.
Pretty much just lucky, I think. The datasheet doesn’t guarantee what will happen at voltages close to the rails, so it’s entirely reasonable one device behaves better than the other outside the spec range.
Added: Oh wait, sorry, you can’t use an MCP6024. It can only take up to 5.5 V power. Maybe there’s some other rail to rail op amp that can go up to 12 V.
