# Total cost of components:

## $3.80 / £2.94

I recommend getting more components than is listed here in case of mistakes or the occasional bad component. Its cheap anyways so fund future endeavors and save yourself some agony. To my knowledge Sam didn’t cover how to hook this up to an audio jack. You should just have to hook up the wire labeled “GND” to the ground of the jack socket, and the wire labeled “out” to the other. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.

I also recommend pairing this with the super simple mixer if you plan on making a few of these. Sam has a great stripboard layout for that as well. To see the BOM for that, make your way over here:

Tayda ships everywhere.

The big ones have portuguese storefronts ([pt.mouser.com](http://pt.mouser.com), [digikey.pt](http://digikey.pt), etc), even if you usually have to order for EUR 50 or so to get free shipping.

I’m sure there are local suppliers too, but unless any fellow portuguese tinkerer sees this you probably have to ask around in local forums to find them.

Because I’m afraid it might get stuck in costums. The only things I ordered from outside the EU got stuck there for more than a month and I had to pay a fee to get them out. But Tayda is an extremely appealing option because you have everything in one place.

I’ve been hearing nightmares about customs for y’all over there. Not knowing too much about it, can you tell me if that’s exclusive to outside Europe, or just outside any given country? I want to assist in shopping if tayda isn’t an option.

Yes it’s exclusive from outside Europe. Last time I bought an Antumbra Smog from an American company it got stuck in costums for more than a month and I had to pay an extra 50€. I ordered my Sony MDR 7506 from a chinese company and had the same issue. And they don’t even call you saying they have the product they wait for you to call and most times we don’t even get a notification saying the product is being held in costums.

I can confirm that ordering outside the EU is a pain in the ass in the UK. I ordered a t-shirt from the states that cost $20 and ended up paying the same again in fees and a third time for shipping (although that’s not customs fault). As far as China goes it’s a lottery as sometimes they ship via mainland eu and our customs ignores it. Mind you, local politics may well change the situation by next year, for better or worse.

Not being funny, and no disrespect intended, but this just doesn’t work properly, you need to update the layout really to stop people spending hours getting frustrated.  
Tone section is laid out all wrong, works better with a 104 cap aswell.  
LED should go between row K and L surely?  
Also, the oscillator doesn’t cut out at the top of the range if you put the cap between row I and K  
And you can get much more tuning range of you use a 20k pot.

This isn’t the first time I’ve found major flaws with these layouts, I sometimes think Sam is just trolling.  
Dunno why anyone would be a patron for misinformation, but yeah all good, but this is only after I’ve basically made my own layout.
