First pcb prototype attempt

This stuff’s addictive isn’t it?

Oh it’s over for me. I think I like building it more than playing it. There’s going to be a wall of modular if I’m not careful or if I don’t get back to real work soon

That and the fact that you get 5 at a time. Good deal for the VCAs! You can never have enough of those. Nice work, @CTorp

We’ll be living in a modular barter economy soon enough! :+1:

I probably screwed up the G-T-S pads on my first order, not even reloaded the board to check… if its wrong I will just jumper wire it.

Have a second design queued up for a dual VCO LMNK, just waiting to see how bad my first design turns out… after that I have lots of ideas both Modular and other projects…

Told ya! (my #1 advice, etc)

First version of my MFOS VCF worked fine if you didn’t mind having to turn four of the five pots counterclockwise to increase. And one clockwise.

My personal greatest hit is probably when a last second really minor tweak to the schematics, followed by a “if I move this a bit it’ll be prettier” derail where I failed to select everything I meant to select resulted in ten nice-looking PCBs where the same signal was fed into both inputs on an output buffer. Which of course was the first thing I noticed when I opened the package (“umm, that’s an unusual circuit…”).

Probably should have started with this circuit, only took a few hours

Is this mounted upside-down compared to the PCB picture above? (First pcb prototype attempt)
And are two x4 multiples at the bottom of this picture passive, and the two at the top the two active ones you mentioned in the other post above?

Yeah it’s upside down cause the ribbon cable wouldn’t reach the power supply. Need to make another longer one. Yes two sets of passives and two sets of 1 to 3 buffered

Used 10k trimpots cause I didn’t have 2ks they work like a charm buffered voltages come out spot on.

Also the switch mult PCBs are on their way as well. I’ll make a github and post them if you guys are interested. If you want a pcb of either I could probably do that too. I know utility switches aren’t too exciting but they are necessary

Definitely! That is a question that never needs to be asked

I’m interested! Got to have some multi in the rack for sure! I can put it next to my new analogoutput module!

If this keeps up we’re gonna have to petition modulargrid.net to add a Kosmo section.

Let me fix the silkscreen errors and I’ll make an account

Also fair warning the buffered mult was my first schem so it’s a little messy. The switch mult is quite a bit tidier!

Are you planning on publishing the front panel as a PCB too?
If so, could you make sure the mounting screw holes are aligned with the “standard” Kosmo ones?
For wooden rails users it doesn’t matter much, but for metal rail users it could make a big difference.

(See discussion here)

I hope I got it right on the Mikrokosmos, I still don’t have an LMNC module in my hands to compare!
